SEA shortlisted for international Sport Positive Award

We are delighted to announce that Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) has been shortlisted in the ‘Community Initiative’ category at the Sport Positive Awards 2025 for our project Reducing Community Waste: A Team Sport.

About the initiative

A Team Sport project, with support from the Government of Western Australia and the WasteSorted Community Education Grants 2023 program bought together five sporting clubs - spanning regional grassroots teams through to city-based professional league clubs - all united by a desire to improve their environmental performance.

The program focused on helping clubs:

  • Strengthen waste management systems

  • Increase recycling and resource recovery

  • Reduce overall waste sent to landfill

By working collaboratively across different levels of sport during the 2024 season, the initiative built lasting systems and processes that will continue to make a positive impact for years to come.
