Commonwealth Games Australia joins SEA – and sport is the winner

Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) are pleased to welcome Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) as our newest member as we continue to grow a collective of sports leaders committed to protecting the places where we play.

As a major voice in Australian sport, CGA brings experience, reach, and a clear commitment to integrating environmental responsibility across its operations. From embedding a detailed ESG framework to considering environmental impacts in decisions such as uniform procurement, CGA is actively shaping a more sustainable future for sport.

This partnership marks a strong step forward for both CGA and SEA, as we work together to share knowledge and drive practical, lasting change across the sector.

“Sport has a responsibility to lead by example,” said SEA Chair Margot Foster AM OLY. “CGA’s membership reflects a growing recognition that the way we operate off the field matters just as much as what happens on it.”
