Introducing SEA's newest member – Carlton Football Club

Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) is excited to welcome Carlton as a member of the SEA network, where everyone shares a common vision of wanting a more sustainable and regenerative Australasia.

Carlton are at the start of their Sustainability journey, currently putting together their sustainability road map to be launched next year.

Blues CEO Brian Cook explains that being a member of SEA will enable the club to showcase eco-friendly practices, reduce its environmental footprint, and engage with fans to spread awareness.

“Through this alliance, we contribute to a greener future and promote the importance of protecting and nurturing our planet.

“By taking a proactive stance, Carlton can utilise its public position to become a role model, showcasing that sports and environmental conservation can go hand in hand,” he said.

Despite only being at the start of its sustainable journey, Carlton Football Club have already installed several initiatives including water harvesting for amenities within the admin department, the separation of waste for improved recycling and the installation of coffee recycling stations.

By taking a proactive stance, Carlton hope to use their public position to become a role model, showcasing that sports and environmental conservation can go hand in hand.

In welcoming Carlton to SEA, Jan Fitzgerald, SEA CEO, said that it is exciting to see such a powerful organisation using its platform to make a positive contribution to sport, planet and society.

“Carlton has already cemented its position as an industry leader, on and off the track, and we look forward to supporting their planetary journey towards a cleaner future.”

Welcome to the #SEAChange, Carlton Football Club!
