Former F1 Engineer Accelerates Sustainability in Sport
Dr. Cristiana Pace, a former Formula 1 engineer and now founder of Enovation Consulting, is setting a bold course for the future of sustainability in sport. Featured recently in Insider Media, Dr. Pace reflected on her journey from the high-performance world of motorsport to becoming a global advocate for data-led, actionable climate strategies across the sporting sector.
Through Enovation Consulting, she and her team are helping organisations embed Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into their operations — not as an add-on, but as a core part of how sport is governed and delivered. Her message is clear: while awareness of sustainability in sport has grown, we’ve only scratched the surface of what’s possible.
Dr. Pace’s work has been internationally recognised. Enovation was recently awarded the prestigious 2025 King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade — the first sustainability consultancy in the sports space to receive this honour. It’s a powerful acknowledgment of the growing influence and necessity of sustainability leadership in the sporting world.
At the Sports Environment Alliance, we echo Dr. Pace’s belief in the transformative potential of sport. Her story is a compelling example of the type of leadership needed to meet the moment — combining deep industry knowledge, a commitment to science-based action, and a vision for a more resilient future.
We are proud to stand alongside leaders like Dr. Pace as we collectively work toward a regenerative, climate-responsible sporting community across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, and beyond.
